Dear Friends, Only one year ago, with the help of so many friends, family, dedicated neighbors and citizens, I earned the opportunity to serve as a member of the Fort Worth City Council. I am pleased to let you know many of the ideas and aspirations that we discussed during the campaign have been put into action. Together we are protecting what makes Fort Worth great. In these past twelve months, the committed, talented and caring District 9 citizens who give freely of their time and talents to make Fort Worth such a wonderful place to live, work and play have motivated me to work even harder for Fort Worth. Whether it is working to bring a modern streetcar system to Fort Worth, finding neighborhood-focused solutions to proposed gas drilling along 8th Ave., TCU and elsewhere, or championing re-zoning and future land use protections along Hemphill Ave., this past year has been one of the most meaningful of my life. I am looking forward to this New Year and all that it will bring. There will be many new things to come for District 9 and I hope that you will continue to be a part of that with me. Sincerely,
Joel Burns |
